You are invited to join Mirja to experience the delicious release and rejuvenating effect of a yin yoga session.
Yin yoga practice gives you an opportunity to make a conscious shift into stillness, away from your everyday life. This session also allows time to explore natural progression into deeper meditative states.
Yin yoga is a powerful, but gentle physical method targeting tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body. It's a relaxed and therapeutic practice consisting of floor postures which are held from three to five minutes at a time. Yin yoga strengthens targeted tissues, helping to heal and has also been shown to break down scar tissue from old injuries.
There are far fewer asanas in Yin than are found in more active yoga styles but they are designed to complement and enhance any other physical practice.
The practice is simple, but not easy as we are learning to allow and accept whatever comes up during the session, whether it is external, inner experiences or within the body. The session can reveal the richness of simply being.
